Sadako is a “part-time woman”. She often models as a otokonokos (cross-dressers). Eventually, Sadako begins to migrate from the internet into the real world. From setting up her Facebook Page, “Private Ching” (私人感晴), to interviews with different media, Sadako wants to let you know that otokonokos (cross-dressers) shouldn’t have to hide from the public. Like everyone else, otokonokos deserve to have a bright life.
While she is not considered exactly a “real” woman, Sadako is determined to show her own kind of femininity. Some may act dramatic towards acts like this and consider them transvetite. But there’s no need to pathologize this. United we group, divided we separate — please don’t direct your forced acceptance or weird gaze towards Sadako.
Like a sunflower, Sadako’s Chinese name “Ching” (晴) signifies the hope for sunshine. Sadako keeps her head up even in the darkest times. Since 2014, Sadako has been working as a cross-dressing model. Not many photographers are interested in shooting cross-dressers, so Sadako cherishes every single shooting opportunity.
