1996年Liza第一次來到香港，當時她是一名來自菲律賓貧困地區的年輕保母。在香港的23年裏，Liza 突破自己極限，選擇了一條與眾不同的道路，從家庭保母走到世界山頂高峰，成為登山運動員、單人旅行者、籌款人、勵志演講家、TedxTinhauWomen 活動演講者、第一隊菲律賓外傭龍創始人和隊長。Liza 通過這些角色，逐步增強自己的影響力。
Liza 將於2019年7月1日開始，挑戰5天攀登伊朗和中東最高峰、亞洲最高火山德馬峰（5671米）並為幫助弱勢婦女和兒童的本地慈善機構 PathFinders Hong Kong。Liza 的勇氣、毅力激勵了全世界成千上萬的人，證明了努力和堅強的決心可以幫助一個人實現他們的夢想。
Being a domestic worker, hiker, mountaineer, solo traveler, fundraiser, motivational presenter, speaker at TedxTinhauWomen event, founder and team leader of Filipino Dynamo Dragonboat Team, Liza Avelino steps up to empower through a multitude of varied and impactful roles.
Liza believes in chasing her dreams. Rather than sitting around and wishing, Liza aims for the sky and wants to inspire others to do the same. Liza first came to Hong Kong in 1996 as a young domestic worker from a poverty-stricken area of the Philippines. In her 23 years in Hong Kong, Liza has pushed limits and chosen paths not many would. Her uniqueness, determination, perseverance and resilience in the face of many challenges has inspired many.
Liza’s upcoming challenge begins on July 01, 2019. Liza will spend 5 days climbing Mt Damavand (5671m) the highest peak in Iran and the Middle East and the highest volcano in Asia. Staying true to her community connection, Liza’s Mt Damavand climb is a fundraiser for PathFinders Hong Kong, a local charity that helps vulnerable women and children in our society. Liza’s raw courage, fierce tenacity and unshakable commitment to being her best self have inspired thousands of people across the globe. Liza exemplifies how hard work and strong determination can help one realize their dreams.
