Karen Yiu本為註冊社工，但自小熱愛藝術的她在工餘時候不斷進修，於香港設計學院修讀時裝設計，並以優等生榮譽畢業於英國倫敦藝術大學的倫敦時裝學院，擅長時裝、媒體、舞台化妝和造型設計。
近年，Karen活躍於歐洲時尚舞台上，對人體彩繪更有獨特深刻的見解，憑籍扎實的基本功和與生俱來的創意，不斷創作和推廣化妝藝術。她曾在不同的國際雜誌發表作品，亦有應邀參與國際的頂級時尚盛會，如奥地利世界人體彩繪節、英國倫敦美容展和倫敦時裝節等。
現時Karen專注在香港及亞洲發展事業，與著名攝影師創作化妝藝術，引進歐洲的藝術和時尚潮流，希望將新的靈感帶給新一代的學員。Karen認為藝術家不僅需要懂得如何化妝，更需要創新，因為化妝設計就如創作藝術品。在最新的作品中，Karen發明了身體刺繡化妝技術，並引起了業界的關注。
Karen Yiu used to be a register Social Worker, but her passion for arts and design urged her to pursue advanced study while working. She completed a part-time course in Hong Kong School of Design and graduated with distinction from The London College of Fashion of the University of the Arts London majoring in specialist makeup design. She is an accomplished Hair and Make-up designer with extensive experience in fashion, editorial, and body painting art.
In recent years, Karen has been active in Europe’s fashion arena. She has a unique and profound insight into body painting and makeup art. She has published in various international magazines and has been invited to participate in international top fashion events such as the World Body Painting Festival in Austria, PROFESSIONAL BEAUTY London, and London Fashion Week.
Karen now focuses on developing her career in Hong Kong and Asia. As an artist who is passionate about makeup design, Karen believes that artists should not only know how to apply makeup but also be capable of generating new ideas and creating innovative imageries. Makeup design for Karen is like creating art pieces. In her final project, Karen invented body embroidery makeup technique and grabbed the attention of the industry.
