科幻故事的本質是顛覆性的。電影《飢餓遊戲》；日本動漫《銃夢》；電視劇《西部世界》；以及無數科幻電影的女主角都分別帶領著一場改革，希望推翻極權操控。在今天的香港，不少年輕的女性都積極參與正進行得如火如荼的社會運動。女性身體往往變成抗爭的場域。在是次工作坊的第一部份，我們將會討論怎樣從現實和科幻世界的抗爭中理解女性身體？
工作坊的第二部分，俞若玫將和參與者一同創作一個完美的女機械人。甚麼是「完美」? 當「完美」遇上「女機械人」，會造成怎樣的化學反應? 如果科幻小說是烏托邦及反烏托邦的再現，也是對未來的考古，女性角色可以有怎樣的突破? 你會如何設定完美的女機械人? 透過拓展Donna Haraway 的 Cyborg，我們可會創造出有性別意識的人工智能及後人類？

Science fiction is inherently subversive. Sci-fi productions such as Hunger Games (2012); Battle Angel Alita (1990s) and Westworld (2016), portray strong female revolutionaries. Back to reality, young females actively participate in the current Anti-ELAB movement. The female body often becomes a site of resistance. In the first half of the workshop, discussions will revolve around the perception of the female body in the context of resistance in science fiction and the current movement.
In the second half of the workshop, participants will create the “perfect” sci fi protagonist, a female cyborg. What is “perfection”? What would come to your mind if the terms “perfection” and “(female) robot” are put side by side? Do robots have gender? If science fiction is a space for utopian imagination or dystopian tales, can we reimagine what “women” means in the near future? How would you programme this perfect female robot? Will we be able to create a gender-conscious AI and posthuman? Drawing inspiration from Donna Haraway’s notion of Cyborg, we invite you to join us in this creative writing workshop to reimagine humanity, technology, and gender!

- Participants please arrive 15 minutes before event start time.

- The Organizer reserves the right to reject any particular person to participate in the event without reasons.

- Inclement Weather Arrangements:
- Black Rainstorm Warning: All programme will continue as scheduled.
- Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No. 8 or above: Programme that have started will continue. If warning signal is in effect 2 hours prior to the start of the programme, the programme will be cancelled. The programme may be re-scheduled, or the participants can choose to receive refund.
- Participant agrees to the main terms and conditions and specific terms and conditions when they purchase tickets or participate in the events.
